Top 10 Women in August

Hi lovelies ! It's been a while since we last heard from each other. To be honest, people tend to forget about August because we typically don't have the same excitement as if it was Thanksgiving or Christmas. This month has been a transition from summer into autumn, where students are preparing to go back to school and adults may rewrite new goals for themselves before the year ends. Regardless of which stage you're in, August is the perfect time to show recognition for women whose stories bring a sense of enthusiasm during this month.

1. Buckingham Bella

Have you noticed the flower details on Bella's blouse? It's okay if you didn't, but it's because our lovely woman is a botanist and herbalist ! That's right, she creates her own ointments and creams from scratch with medicinal herbs. Bella's main focus is to create natural beauty products that promote well-being without having products that are full of chemicals. In order to make such products, Bella grows her own garden and organises workshops to instruct people to make their own products too! Her favourite product, "Beauty By Dayo (BBD)", is a nourishing cream used to treat dark spots and scar marks. This has truly been a customer favourite and with Bella's immense knowledge plus her friendly attitude, she's been seeing more people come to her workshops! Not only do the workshops serve as an engaging activity, but is also used to spread awareness about natural products through herb use.

2. Sunny Sydney
When you think of the word "sunny", what comes to mind? Is it the beach? Or maybe lemonade? What about ice cream? Sydney runs a famous ice cream shop that has not only become a summer favourite, but has become a favourite for the remainder of the year. What really makes Sydney's ice cream shop stand out from the rest of her competitors is her unique spin on flavours. She often creates enticing flavours that leaves customers amused? Not only this, but our amazing woman gives a "sneak peek" of upcoming holiday flavours.

For example, she has pumpkin and peppermint swirl ice cream for a limited time. This gives customers a glimpse of what deliciousness is coming in the future. It's honestly an awesome experience to visit Sydney's store because the environment is so welcoming and playful. Especially for the days of August, her ice cream brings a huge smile on people's faces.

3. Lady Brook Blue

Brook has spent almost every day at the beach during summer and doesn't want to let go of this when school starts again. During the beginning of August, Brook spends her time scanning the beach for interesting finds, whether that be unique pebbles or seashells. She decides that for the next two weeks, Brook is going to hold workshops for children as a way to educate them about marine life. This will also teach them about cleaning up the beach and keeping it tidy. But what happens to the pieces Brook collects?

She turns them into captivating works of art and sells them at marketplaces to raise money for BubblyBlue Beach Conservation. Brook has inspired many children and even adults to take care of the beach better. Efforts now will definitely help future generations enjoy clean beaches without worrying about litter and trash.

4. Rebecca Redbridge

Rebecca is a culinary enthusiast who has recently became famous in town for her mind-blowing recipes with local or organic fruits. Within the first week of August, Rebecca has created picnics throughout a multitude of parks that involve her outstanding invention - a self-filled picnic hamper. What does this mean? Normally, when you go to the park, you need to bring the blanket, the food, the utensils, and much more through numerous bags. With the self-filled picnic hamper, everything's in one place! Most of Rebecca's baskets include fan favourites, including sweet treats and chicken wraps.

Her baskets became such a success that word spread from city to city! More and more people recommended this wonderful basket to their friends, family, and coworkers.

5. Original Obedient Olivia

Olivia's had a passion for music since she was seven years old. She knew how much music changed her for the better at such a young age, and wanted to reveal this wonderful feeling to children. How did Olivia do this? Through playing instruments and singing, of course! Right before school starts, Olivia host a summer concert at Poppy Pink Park, where children get to show off their talents.

This is normally held in the evening as the sun sets, with snacks and drinks provided. Children perform a ton of music genres, and with Olivia's guidance, they received an outstanding applause! Everyone looks forward to this concert every summer because it's one last party before saying goodbye to summer.

6. Plum Parks

Ms. Parks makes sure to view the starry night daily. But have you ever glanced at the night sky? And let's be honest, most times I genuinely don't. But I should. Ms. Parks, however, uses her telescope and high-end camera to capture the sky every night. She's collected numerous photographs of planets and constellations, and hopes to spread the joy to others as well.

At the end of August, Ms. Parks dedicates her time to creating stargazing events. She sets up a few telescopes with some star-themed snacks, engaging people to come see the sky. If you've seen an eccentric photograph in an art gallery of the sky, it's most likely photographed by Ms. Parks! She's been a true inspiration to many and hopes that you'll take some time to enjoy the starry night too.

7. Merry May

May's a natural storyteller and is often requested to tell campfire stories throughout summer camp. Since the last week of summer camp is in August, May decides to host a campfire and explains detailed stories full of magic and adventure. Kids are intrigued as they listen to these stories, and often bring these stories home to their parents.

It's honestly wonderful to see how well May's able to  tell her story, and make the audience feel as if they're a part of the story. Such a beautiful night, paired with s'mores and hot cocoa, was easily the best night for the kids. This August night was truly one for the books and it brought this summer camp closer than ever! This final summer camp day has become tradition and will continue in the future.

8. Alperton Anna

Anna is a well-liked librarian in her city, Fairy Lights. As school starts to begin, Anna holds an engaging summer reading program that's full of trending August books. These range from children's books to young adult.

This year, Anna decided to name her theme "Changes" to highlight the change from summer to autumn. Anna has weekly readings where she reads a book and asks questions to the audience. Her tone, pitch, and enthusiasm truly brings a smile to the children's faces. Anna's library soon became famous, as more and more children attended these sessions. When Thanksgiving and December approach, Anna will have new themes with new book collections!

9. Dr. Sianna-Marie

Have you ever gardened? Or do you have interest in it? You should join Dr. Sianna's garden festival! She hosts this a few times a year, in which people can come and learn how to garden.

Our doctor teaches people about the importance of urban agriculture and how to be sustainable. It's truly transformational for Dr. Sianna-Marie to turn a random patch of soil into a full-fledged garden that grows fresh produce. She gives these back to local families and enjoys helping the environment with others. Doing so has not only educated many, but brought people closer during the summer times. With Dr. Sianna's efforts, her garden festival has become popular amongst many individuals.

10. Sakae Sina

Do you love festivals? I know I do. Sakae knows many people love festivals and hosts her own festival in the community every August.

This year, her theme is circus-related and has everything set up, from carnival food to eye-catching performers. Many children look forward to this day because it's an all-day event that has face painters and water games as well. There's live music, pie-eating contests, and local people who wear stilts. Sakae really knows how to throw a festival because ever since she started, the attendance has nearly tripled! This is truly one way to close off summer and welcome August, as it brings communities together!

Which woman do you resonate with the most? Was it Lady Brook Blue or Merry May? Regardless of who it is, take some time to appreciate the women in your life who makes August feel magical and beautiful.
